Re: Factory Fogs on '06 are easy
I really shouldn't have to explain this again, but I will cause I'm a nice guy.
1. Set the parking brake, and then jack the front of car up high enough to put jack stands under the rocker panels, or the front suspension. Doesn't matter which just don't go climbing under the car until you've done that.
2. LAY down on the ground and place your head about midway between the front bumper and the radiator.
(If you are in the right position, you should be able to look straight up and see the horn.)
3. Now look over to the right hand side of the car (That's the passenger side for those who haven't mastered the terms: left and right yet.)
You should see a 9006 headlight plug somewhere between the front of the wheel well, and the back side of the front end cover that forms the body around the bumper.
If you are not familiar with what a 9006 plug looks like, then i invite you to remove the plug that is attached to your low beam headlight.
It looks exactly like that.
Now this plug may be taped up to some part or it may have fallen down already, so looking for a loose wiring harness with a 9006 plug is your mission.
4. If all this fails, then take the car to the dealer and ask him to point it out to you, or do what I did, ask any 16 year old high school girl to find the plug.
It's amazing what they will do for $5. lol
5. Now roll over so that you are facing the left side (That's the driver side.)
This might be pretty tricky for someone who had a hard time finding their Easter basket on Sunday morning, so maybe a flashlight might be useful at this point.
You can start out by avoiding searching for anything that resembles something that does not look like a 9006 head light plug.
It may be taped up to the outside (Left side) of the radiator support, but at any rate, it won't be very far away from the opening in the lower valance where the fog light gets installed.
Now go look again.
Remember. In order to find the plugs you have to be in a position where you can see both the back side of the bumper, and the front side of the radiator, at the same time.
And if your head is any higher than the bottom of the radiator, you're in the wrong place.
