After all of my searching I find your solution to be the one I'm going to try. I do have a question though. Why not use one relay and tie pin 30 to ground. In the normally closed condition that should apply a ground to pin 5 of the relay. When the headlights are enabled that should open the ground disabling the DRL function and have the signal lights operate normally. I just want to make sure I'm thinking correctly.
