The relatively minor price differences between the Plat and LTD were a non-factor for me.

The drivers in my decision-making were features.
  1. My current SUV has heated 2nd row seats. My family likes and uses them. I wasn't going to go backwards therefore having 2nd row heated seats were an important feature for me.
  2. I knew I wanted A/C front seats particularly since I'm getting a black vehicle.
  3. I felt the H-TEMS adjustable suspension would make for a more comfortable tow vehicle, particularly on some of my longer towing trips.
  4. I felt the electrically adjustable, memory tilt/telescope steering wheel was an important feature for me as a tall driver with a shorter wife.
  5. Having had multiple SUVs with light colored carpeting that soon looked shabby after a few boating seasons, I knew I had to have dark carpeting (which is only available with the Red Rock interior).
Each of these features are exclusive to the Platinum edition of the Sequoia. If these aren't important needs for others than the Platinum is probably not worth the $2000 additional cost over a fully loaded Limited Sequoia.
