Disable the ABS on a 2003 Tacoma
Guys I'm looking for a way to disable the ABS on my 03 taco 4x4 trd. I've had enough of the computer taking over and pulsing all the way to the bottom of a small hill i have to drive eveyday. Not to mention all the near misses due to the system releasing the brakes. I lived with the problem for a long time thinking it was just the junk stock tires. I replaced all four tires with Dueler AT Revo's a week ago and the problem is the same. I have a buddy with a taco and Blizakks. We'll pulled those and put them on my truck, Same thing (buddies taco does same thing. That's why he bought the Blizakes). The ABS system on this truck stinks and toyota says it's working noramlly. Here's the senerio. Pull out of my drive way, drive about 5 mins. Slow to about 15mph and crest the hill that leads down to a stop sign. The hill is appox 3 blocks long and it takes every bit of two blocks to stop from 15 mph. Now i tried the same thing (same day) in my old beater front drive lebaron with $30 pepboys tires with 70K miles on them and no ABS. Not a problem, stops in a few car lengths from 30mph. I don't want to have the conversation about if i should or should not disable the ABS. It's getting done. I'm just asking if anyone here knows a simple and easyway to do it. I know the 05+ owners have a way to tap into the fuse block and run a switch. Anyone know how to do it on the 2003 model?
