I might try this however I will probably make it more complicated by installing a computerized switch. I do want to add the DRL function but I also want to add computerized control of the automatic light sensor, so that I can program the ON / OFF times based on the time of day and time of year. This will allow me to specify the headlights to come on at 4:00 pm CST during the dark winter months and 8:00 pm CST during the bright summer months. The factory setting on the auto sensor is never correct and I find it irritating that it incorrectly switches on and off as I drive through tunnels, shadows, cloudy or rainy days, etc. So I plan to use an old PDA that I have on the shelf to replace the auto sensor and control the lights based on my local time zone. The bonus is that it will be completely programmable with all sorts of options. Now I just need to find where the harness connector is for the auto sensor...

Sounds like a great project you've got going there. I would be interested in learning how you do this.

I should have some time tomorrow. I will try to find the harness connector for the auto sensor you are needing. As I do not have this feature on my Tundra, my source will have to be the factory electrical manual. Perhaps it will help.
