Getting the stock NAV to accept DVD output
I'd love to get the stock NAV to accept video input from a portable DVD player by hanging a couple of RCA connections out from under the dash or something. I don't need an expensive rear seat entertainment system. I'd just like to be able to let my passenger watch DVDs up front without risking a ticket from having the portable player sitting on my dash.
One setup seems to be to tap into the feed from the backup camera. I guess that would mean also doing whatever is necessary to turn the camera video feed on while driving. I supposed I need the speed pulse generator. I'm not sure, though, how to get the backup camera video feed to turn on, though. Then, I'm hoping to wipe out the backup video "check surrounding" red letters by replacing the letters in the code with spaces and reburning the nav DVD.
What are your thoughts? Your advice is appreciated.
