Thanks for all the time & information you have provided to this post. I personally just couldn't see investing the $1800 or so the dealer wanted, so I bought a portable DVD player that was on sale at Best Buy for $125. However, now that you have brought this product to my attention I think I will order it shortly. If one of the units go bad, I have a backup and I will still have under $500 totally invested. A far cry from the $1800.

Yeah I have considered doing that hack too just been to lazy to do it since I don't really need to watch a DVD on the front screen but it would look cool.

Oh there 100's of other headrest DVD players out there on ebay so you can just pick and chose the options and features you want, I picked these due to simplicity of hookup and had everything I needed and then some.
