I say for the amount of use I use them for and am sure 90% of people use their rear DVD entertainment systems is on the light side for just road trips or longer around town trips. I personaly am not willing to spend upwards of $1,000 + or more for when I can cut some cost and get a product that does everything I want and if it does dies, I'll just will replace them again for this price they really are a throw away if they break. For an example look at the price of laptops now. You can find them in the sub $500.00 price tag and when they break your better off tossing it and getting the next newer, better unit out next. Cause it end up costing you more time and money to fix some thing that is out dated pretty quickly.
My point is these do what I want them to and probably saved me a few $$$ along the way and I just wanted to let other owners here know what I did and if they want to follow suit it's their choice and if they want to spend more money on other products like yours thats their choice also.
As for your comment on no splicing how are your units any different than any others in what it requires for a power source ?
I have yet to hear about a wireless 12volt power transmitter and reciever and if your just using a cigarette plug mines does that too and sure many others do too, so guess as far as no splicing I can claim these do that too.
