I suppose you could beat it flat. But that isn't going to do the trick. You have to take your inner fenders off and mud flaps. They're are many screws and some bolts holding these parts on. Then You got to have or aquire a saw-z-all and cut. Then a grinder for smoothing it down and taking excess off so there are no sharp edges. Then making any further changes by more grinding if you didn't cut enough.
Then some sealing and waterproofing needs to be done or water will find its way into the trucks interior flooring. Don't half @ss it. Do it right. Then put all your inner fenders back in place. Test fit the mud flaps finding out what needs to be trimmed next. I had to trim the mud flaps of mine down. You can use some shears. Then the inner fender
liner can be molded with a heat gun to soften the plastic to mold to the newly modified pinchweld. but mine I just pushed it in and bolted it down. Without doing that you're mostly likey going to rub the pinchweld as your 295's on 17's are equivalent to my 305/70/16s in height and width and I had to do eveything I just mentioned to get them to fit on my 03' if I wanted to turn the wheels without rubbing the old plastic bumper and pinchweld/mudflap/inner fender plastic. Put those wheel spacers on first and see what you got going on.
And let us know what happens, Alright? Also..What do you got for a lift.
