It is also nice to watch the rear camera on demand. So I suggest that you checkout my old thread for a cheap and quick solution in the interim, unless you have $450 to spend and want to try the device posted above. Those over-priced solutions are the reason I keep inventing - just isn't fair for them to gouge people like that.

Yeah guys its rather simple a matter of adding a switch (SPDT used same switch as I did for SPG) to the Rev wire to the NAV head unit. I found all the information I needed from WileE posts lots of good information hes got about different things and what wire does what. If your to lazy to search for WilieE post which I found to be alot of great information in general.
All I did was wire a +12V source to the switch and intercepted the green wire next to the speed wire you tapped your SPG (K6 I think it was) to which made it easy since I was back there already and thats all there was to it. So when the switch is in normal state the rear camera only comes on when you go into reverse and when the switch is on it toggles the +12v to the NAV unit to fool it into thinking the trucks in reverse. So to add video its a matter of intercepting the rear camera input to the NAV and injecting your own source, a simple relay make it simple. I am thinking it be a easy build to make a simple relay box to do this or as WileE did in his post he added a video switcher which is a great idea then you can have a few different inputs, which was a awsome idea.
