Default Re: Sienna Radio Problems

Thu Mar 13 08: I have a 2004 Sienna and had same problem of radio not being able to shut off and display blank. Problem went away. I was hoping it was a fuse but I am getting scared. I think this van has a defective radio!!!!

Fri Mar 14 08: Problem has not re-occurred so far. Started van about 6 times so far. If it does not happen in the next few days I am not going to replace radio but will ask the dealer when I go do an oil change on Monday.

Sat Mar 15 08: Problem has not re-occurred. Toyota is unaware(at least will not admit it). I replied with this link.

Subject: RE: 2004 Sienna - Radio problems

Dear Mr. xxxx:
Thank you for your recent correspondence.
From time to time, it is necessary for Toyota Canada Inc. to issue special service campaigns for vehicles. When this is done, owner's of affected vehicles are notified by mail. As only certain vehicles, manufactured at certain times are included in these campaigns, we would like to take this opportunity to advise you that there are no outstanding campaigns on the provided VIN: xxxx that would explain this issue.
Toyota Canada Inc. is not aware of any common concerns as described in your e-mail, as such we are unable to make suggestions or recommendations. As you can appreciate, we are unable to provide a diagnosis through the medium of correspondence.
As well, we would like to mention that intermittent conditions may be difficult to diagnose if they are not experienced first-hand by the service staff. We can only suggest that you discuss this directly with the Service Manager at your Toyota dealership. Should they require technical assistance, they may contact Toyota Canada directly.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Sincerely,
xxxx
