To some extend Yes Toyota is Lame on a few feature and Audio for one is decent yet hardly I would say is special in term's of great sounding. Why can't Toyota drop JBl and find someone a whole lot better supplier. From the sounds of it Toyota really doesn't care since it's cheaper in the long run to go with Jbl yet feature wise they don't compare to Honda system or other Like Gm who provides Bose or Bmw which is Harmon .
While I don't claim to be an audiophile, I do find the JBL sound system to be pretty good in the Platinum. I'm not sure how many speakers it has...maybe 14 or is it 20...heck the way the marketing depts work, it might have 50 speakers just to have 1 more than the competitor.

Overall I do like the sound system in the Platinum. I just wish I didn't have to rub my stomach and head at the same time before the Toyota lawyers think I'm competent enough to run the nav and phone directory while driving.

Well..... on second thought....given some of the morons I've seen using their cell while driving, maybe I can understand Toyota's position. But can't they give us guys on forums like this a special decoder ring or something to override these nannies? Really....I promise....I won't tell the knuckleheads the secret handshake to get into the Nav while driving.....
