Default Re: metal vs plastic intake manifold

Probably mostly a cost issue. I am no expert but I would guess plastic manifolds are easier and cheaper to mold than aluminum. Also plastic would tend to do a better job keeping the intake charge cooler (i.e. insulated from underhood heat) and offer a weight savings as well.
