I have never been a fan of the foam style of air cleaners. They don't seem to trap as much dirt, and over time, they tend to break down and degrade (come apart). YMMV, and I am sure that not all foam filters are created equal. I am a bigger fan of the new synthetic fabric style (to replace the K&N style cotton pleated filters). But I am no expert and make no factual claims. My 2 cents.
