This choice is up to the user, but I've discussed this issue with Greg at PRG and he has assured me that the truck will not suffer as a result.
Don't know on the second part - I've never put 1,000 lbs in the bed. Probably 500 at most.

The holes look like they are pretty close to the top of the OE springs. I could see how after you get offroad you will be a little squeeky.
You have 1k lbs of junk you can throw back there to see how it holds up? I would be interested to see the sag with this kind of weight compared to the OE 3/4" lift block/blade.
