I don't think you understand this explanation.
It really does not matter what the RPM's are.
The computer will select the optimal RPM depending on the load.
All you can do is vary the load.

Because the engine is fly by wire, only the computer has control of the throttle, so knowing what RPM is selected by the computer, is immaterial.

Like I said, it makes no difference what the RPM's are because you can't change them to suit your desire.

A tachometer is VERY useful in a manual transmission equipped vehicle, because you can vary the load with the throttle, and the gear selected as a combination, but in a CVT equipped vehicle that choice is taken away from you, and replaced by a computer program.

So knowing the RPM, in this case, is simply worthless information.
Toyota realized this, and gave you something that is actually useful, in it's place.

Most of us learn to drive differently, once we start paying attention to how fast our gasoline is being burned up.
That's the kind of good information you will come to appreciate.
