It doesn't hurt Toyota's prospective sales to have a buyback of older Tacomas like this - granted ...
But there may be a bigger 'back story' to this. There's a *rumor* that Toyota is being generous because they'll be passing the costs along to the OEM frame supplier.
In other words - they look good for standing behind the product, they remove a lot of older Tacomas from the marketplace (no doubt hopefully to be replaced with other Toyota trucks) and they don't take the full 'hit' financially ...
