I too had been thinking about this mod for a while and I finally got around to tackling it this week. The first time it came to me was when I removed the interior of the truck to wrap it in sound deadener.
Hopefully I will have the amps installed this weekend, although things always come up and take longer than you anticipate.  |
I know its too late because you've already made your cuts, but I dont have any rattles by following the same angle from the factory. Mine open and close very smoothly with very little effort, but looks like we both cut about the same amount off.
Put up some pics of those amps if you get time.
