Default Re: throttle body / fuel injector - 2000 Echo

Well, the problem of rough running / power loss came back. My lesson learned is that the proper way to clean the throttle body is to not clean it unless it stops working correctly.

I have already tried cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner and no physical contact, air drying like one should.

My wife says that she tried putting in 93 octane gas this morning and there has been some improvement. This makes me think that the engine might be running a bit hot. Doing an oil change and checking the coolant level seem like things to try. Would a coolant replacement be in order? Maybe the fuel additive increased the effective octane level a bit and masked the issue. Any other easy things to look for?

As for the indy shop, I'm trying to do most of the work myself, but the alternator died in mid week and we didn't have time to wait until the weekend to get the car going again. We're looking for a third vehicle now so that we can have one briefly non-functional without drama.
