It has been a pleasure discussing this topic with you.
This sight (T.S.) is a very good place that we can all learn from each other.
There are alot of very mature & well informed people here, I consider you 1 of them.
Have a great weekend my friend.

This is quite an old thread so I hope you're still an active member. I just purchased an '07 Tundra 4x4 with the immobilizer system. The dealer I bought the truck from told me that the truck only had the valet key so I called the local Toyota dealer. The Toyota dealer plugged in the truck's VIN and told me that the key didn't have a chip and it would be a simple resolution. So I bought the truck and went to the dealer for some new keys to find out that the info on the truck was wrong and it indeed has chipped keys. Now they tell me that I might need a new immobilizer ecu and keys. Is this right or are they just being lazy like you mentioned earlier?
