I guess a lot of it depends on how you drive it. I know my grandfather's Avalon with the 6-speed AT can get near the same MPG's with twice as much car.
Anyways, time for my 1000 mile report...
So I've put over 1000 miles on the Corolla so far. No issues thus far. No squeeks, rattles or otherwise. I washed it again lastnight and I did find its first major chip in the paint. It was down on the middle side skirt up by the front right wheel. Guess a rock got in there and pushed into the plastic. The paint everywhere else seems to be holding up well.
By my MPG Excell workbook I'm paying about .11 cents a mile right now. I'm still getting right around 28MPGs give or take .5MPGs in either direction. Still mostly country mile driving with a little highway every so often.
