Default Re: GPS where to mount besides windshield?

Best money you can spend is for a remote antenna. Put it in the corner of the windshield and route the cable around the end of the dash by the passenger door, then under the glove box to the console area. I keep my Garmin 330 StreetPilot sitting in the front cupholder. The suction mount and bracket sits in the cup holder real well. GPS is off the top of the dash. Easy to reach, and there aren't wires strung everywhere. Still easy to move to another vehicle. I just unplug the remote antenna and leave it in the Tundra. Oh and fwiw. We have an Audi A6 with factory nav. The old Garmin is 10 times better. (and 10 times cheaper)
