I had so much trouble with the supplied belt, I went down to my friendly O'Reily's and picked up several Gates belts in 5 mm increments.

I settled on Gates #K061066 which is 2722mm long. It is much easier to install and doesn't put the big load on the pulley snout. I don't lose any boost at high RPM, so no slipping either.

I don't know why Toyota specified the original pain-in-the-butt belt.
