do you think toyota of all company's would sell you something that is going to mess up? i know not. they have really smart people always thinking. thats why toyota's are the #1 best selling, best running vehicles on the road.
have they made mistake's of course they have, but compare them too all other's there mile's ahead. if they approve the TRD SUPERCHAGER, not a turbo, they will make sure it work's corectly, with no ill effect's.
maybe just maybe, there are people who bought there 07 and 08 and now they want the trd supercharger, but -they might be already upside down. or in a lease., etc .
gorilla
P.S. if this supercharger really put's out more than 130+ HP and god only know's how much more torque. i'll be getting a new truck for sure. for 6g's come on.
well worth the money.
my my past experience is there supercharger's only put 50 more HP to the rear wheel's.
regardless what anyone has said or claimed, i know because toyota custom installer of all the supercharger's has said even the older tundra's put out 50 more horses to the rear wheel's and in his opinion ,none of them were worth 6+g's. for 50 horse power.. beside's they stoped making them for the tundra's many reasons.
but if they make a new 1 , they already made sure that the internal's are strong enough to withhold the surge of power. and able to suck all the air & fuel needed.
BUT, we shall see, won't we, because they are going to sell like hot cake's.
by the way, my dealer won't take a order , because the trd supercharger isn't approved yet by toyota.
so it's like selling a car that doesn't exist yet.

Toyota will gladly sell you something that is virtually useless in order to turn a profit, like any major corporation in the world.
As a previous poster has mentioned, superchargers don't significantly reduce air temperature, so for some applications and some different supercharger types, intercoolers are useless. As for the type of intercooler discribed (with pictures) in the first post of this thread, it will be even less useful then a typical intercooler because it lacks contact area and in-contact time to achieve any significant cooling.
Now if there is intercooling piping beneath what can be seen in the pictures, then it might be effective, but from every angle I look at them, all I see is a 2" wide flange between the air filter outlet pipe and the engine inlet pipe.
