Hey Bob, kudos on the new Corolla... I feel your pain on having to give up the truck... I'm still not over giving up my X-SP... I miss my exhaust on that thing... lol

Anyways, as far as pep goes, I've got the 2.4L. I had a few friends ride in it yesterday that have those Civic Si cars. They said the acceleration is compairable if not the same, and that was with 3 people in the car. My MPGs is staying right at 28.6ish or so with me romping on it on a semi-regualr basis. 35 - 37MPG would be real nice. My mom and dad are looking into getting one and that might be the way for them to go.

I'm with you on the clock deal (mine is like yours). I hate that they've got it burried down with the rest of the stuff in the speedo area (you have to cycle through 'avg MPG', 'total time driving', est instant MPG', ect). They should do like they always have and put an extra little clock somewhere in the dash or on the radio.

My XRS came with the JBL 8 speaker deal... it is real nice once you turn it up... seems like the bass doesnt really come in untill 35 (volume setting).

I acctually dont like the BSM... I like the look without them. Kinda gives it a clean and smooth look to me. Makes the door panels look bigger too, which makes the whole car look a little bigger to me. Although I havent seen a 'rolla with BSM in person...

It is a fun little car to drive. Feels good to smash the gas and not burn $5 worth of gas. lol!
