Default Re: How to adjust parking brake, '02 2WD

Every time you set your parking brake it adjusts it's self, or it supposed to. When a parking brake goes out of adjustment it can mean it is time to replace the back brakes. 50K is low miles for back brakes. On the brake backing plate there is a small rubber plug. Remove the plug this gives you access to the star adjuster. With the wheel off the ground , use a flat screw driver to spoon up the adjuster. they make a tool called a brake spoon but i have just used a screw driver. Adjust it out until you feel the brakes putting drag on the wheel as you spin it.
