I Agree with above post.
A far as I know, this is the way it has been done for years.

BTW, if yu ever discover your Pass. door key cylinder pryed out and missing with no other damage or theft to your car...be prepared to re-key all the locks including the ign. key cylinders.

Yu are being set up for a car theft at some point!

Thieves will get that key code off the cylinder and make a copy to steal your car when convenient.

But as of late yu need the original chip key to start most cars .....unless yu had one of those AFTERMARKET remote engine starters installed. Then your Chip key is always disabled. Any cut key will work without need to program the chip like the original.
