Re: New Radio using factory Aux input.
Sorry it took me so lond to get back to you guys on how to do this but here is how I did it. I don't have any pictures and I lost my notes on the wire colors (that's why you need a meter)
You'll need:
A digital Multi-meter(One that reads resistance)
Wire Strippers/Crimpers
3 Wire Splices
1 Headphone Jack to RCA Plog Audio Adapter
Take your adapter and cut the RCA plugs off and Strip back the wiring. You'll want to strip back enough because the shields need to be twisted together. Also strip the middle wires back to. (These wires are small so be careful)
After this you will have three wires basically, one for right one for left and a Common (your shields twisted together).
From here on out you will need your dash apart and radio removed. If you already have a after market radio installed you will have noticed that there is a plug that does not go anywhere. This is the one that goes to your Aux Port.
Plug the cable into your Aux port(make sure the Aux port is connected on you Air Control Panel) Now you'll have to read each wire from your modified cable to the plug that plugged into the old radio. Make of note of which wire the ring to.
Once you do that unplug your cable from the Aux Input and splice the adapter wires into the coresponding wires that you rang out earlier.
After that plug the headphone jack into the back of your radio and you have use of your Factory Aux input. If you need any help please feel free to drop me a line and I'll get back as soon as I can.
