I had the dash rattle when cold. The dash on the passenger side sat below the lip on the 'A' pillar. When I had my 5k service they duplicated the rattle, and they said they removed the dash and found "insufficient damping" on the contact points and added "Toyota damping material". This eliminated the rattle and brought the dash flush to the 'A' pillar. It was a one day service including the 5k service under warranty.
Sorry, I didn't stick around to take pics, nor did I have them elaborate. It's fixed and I'm happy.
