I am getting ready to do this and have a few questions:

1. My book says the volume of the ATF is about 2 qts with a drain and refill. I know there is some ATF left in the system but why does it take 12 more qts to flush it out? Is there THAt much still in there?

2. What about the gaskets Haynes mentions on the filter? You didn;t reference them so I wonder if they were in good shape?

3. When applying the gasket (on the pan), shouldn't you go both inboard and outboard of the screw holes to seal the screw?

4. After you reassemble the pan to the truck, should you let the RTV cure for an hour until it forms a skin before you refill and then flush?
