Aftermarket ProductsDiscussions about aftermarket products and accessories.
This is a discussion thread titled "Truck Box Installation", within the Aftermarket Products forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
How do most of you have your truck boxes installed: Bolted to the top of the bed or using J-Hooks? The local UWS dealer said that 90% of his installs are bolted.
My commercial customers want theirs bolted. My retail customers don't really have a preference. We would rather use J-hooks so a hole is not drilled in the rail.
Does the rail system on the Tacomas provide a sturdy anchor for the J-hooks? I could see that system working better on a traditional truck bed that has a prominent metal "lip".
