A custom exhaust shop can adapt the stock size piping to fit a muffler with different inlet and outlet diameters than the piping has but it's best to install a muffler that is as close in size as you can get.

when I had mine done the guy said the stock pipe was 2.25 and we went with 2.50 pipe which matched the flomaster he was installing. He did advise against a 3" pipe because there would be a noticeable loss in low end torque. Most shops can blend pipes that are different sizes to match your needs though. I think the magnaflo you are asking about is a 2.5 in/out so getting it on won't be an issue unless you want the 3" pipes

The measurements I got on the stock exhaust was 2 1/8" O.D.on the 2 front intermediate pipes going into the muffler and 2 3/4" O.D. on the tailpipe.

Do you have a a 2 in 2 out muffler installed? Did you notice any loss of low end torque/ power after incrasing the piping size? What size are the tail pipes?

I installed a JBA Dual system and it's 2 1/2" all the way with a 2 in 2 out muffler and I lost noticeable low-end.

for me the truck performs just like before only now it rumbles nicely doing it. I haven't noticed any performance loss. I don't race my truck from a stop so if there is any loss I won't notice it. I have noticed that at the 2200rpm range and higher it scoots a lot better than stock. I had the guy bend up a dual exit out of 2 1/2" pipe in let to exit under rear bumper. I also added some stainless tips that are 3" I.D. and 15" long.
