There was a vortex dealer about 4 blocks from where I had Line-X done. While I was waiting for my Line-X to get sprayed I went for a walk and found the vortex dealer. They had a new Chevy Silverado that had just finished getting sprayed. The tailgate was down so I could see the lines and get a visual gauge on the thickness.
My opinion...not as clean of a job (could be the dealer, or experience issue). Not applied as thickly as Line-X. Different texture (slightly) with a visually different surface texture. Looked like it was worth about $325. I did a lot of research and stopped at several different dealers (Vortex, Rhino, Line-X) and found Line-X to be the cleanest business, bets customer service, professional owner and employees, and I just felt comfortable that they would do the best job. It may be different in your area, but Line-X won my business hands down. I also posted on another thread that I was allowed to watch the process on my truck and would occasionally walk back and see what was up.....makes a guy sick to see all the paint off the bed. Also watched them rip out a "DIY" bed coating. That really looked like crap!! Good Luck |

Hello I had a Vortex Liner sprayed and really love it, Great price and the guy was real easy to deal with. Line-x is great but Vortex offers the same quality liner at a better price. After all you are paying for the name "GOD" sorry I mean "LINE-X" but if you ever deal with them you will know why I said God. Never had a problem with it and I have sent many people to him. But I didn't know there was a Vortex dealer anywhere close to Line-X for the other guy on this form to post that nasty pic of a sample of the liner. There is NO Line-X in lex so where did you get the sample???

I agree it's all in the person who puts it on. I like Line-x but on the same hand I can get you pic's of a few friends trucks who's liners are as thin and big chips in it also. For the money if Vortex stands behind it's product it's GREAT.

I guess that's true they have to know how to spray it to make it look good. I can post some friends of mine trucks that Line-X did and there pretty thin also, and even chipped BAD!!! But the HI/LO pressure thing I don't understand??? One system you can shoot the truck from one side of the shop, the other a little closer but can still get the same thickness??? So HI/Lo???? But Vortex Now has the HIGH pressure system at least the guy who shot mine did. And how come Line-X cant shoot under the lip of the rail?? Don't get me wrong I have had a Line-X liner. But after seeing other liners out there just as good and cheaper I don't think I'll be back. They All have Flaws it just who will be honest and fix their mistakes....

Here Is some pic's of my friends car that was done in VORTEX in Lex Ky. This is what helped me make a choice "& Line-X's Attitude" to go with this guy. Looks Clean no runs or "CHEESE" as some people put it and was HALF the price of Line-X and $200 less than rhino

High pressure/low pressure has nothing to do with thickness or whether or not the dealer can shoot "under the lip". Low pressure bedliners (typically 100 psi or less) tend to have a "gouped on" or cottage cheese look. High pressure bedliners (typically 1,500 psi to 2,000 psi) have a much more uniform and much finer texture. Typically, high pressure products also heat the product to about 130 degrees. High pressure with heat also provides superior adhesion. Last year, Rhino slightly modified two of their existing products so that they could be applied using heat/high pressure. Toff, another major player in the market, has also switched to high pressure. The Nissan Titan factory bedliner (by PPG) is high pressure. And, there are others. LINE-X dealers can shoot under the lip. Vortex does not have a high pressure product. They buy their bedliner chemicals from from Kott Koatings and they still are buying the same stuff. The Vortex patented portable machine sprays at 8 psi. LINE-X has a written nationwide lifetime warranty, Vortex does not. Vortex does not have a product like LINE-X Xtra, however they do have an optional KV-40 topcoat. |

Ok here is the pic's I said I would get you of "GOD" sorry LINE-X well it seems that even they make mistakes too. Here you see the liner on this tailgate of a chevy coming off and "VERY THIN". Big chunks, scrapes, and pay attention to the thickness and compare it to the other liner above that is said to be "VORTEX"??? That could be a DIYS liner. But I'll also post some of my newpics from my truck, that was just shot with "Vortex" to show what it should look like!!!!!!!

Ok now here are two shots of my truck with "vortex" Look at the texture and compare it to the "sample" provided by the competitor "LINE-X" now make your own choice. The sample provided looks like a "WAL-MArt" DIYS!!! But of coarse if you try to compare any liner to "LINE-X" none will look like it. But If you compare any liner to another liner, none will look the same??? Crazy?? NO thats because "LINE-X" thinks they are "GOD" and everyone who has ever dealt with them they know why??? So why should any liner be held to look like them??? Thats like saying all women should be created the same. But then we would have no choice!!!!!
