The only downfall to the new crewmax is the bed length when they come out with a longer bed then I will maybe start looking at them harder thats what I love about my dc all that cab space plus plenty of bed space too.

Yeah I know, thats why I have held off on buying the Crewmax to this point. I contacted Toyota to see when they plan on making the Crewmax with at least the standard bed. Their response was its not even being considered right now. Best thing to change this is enough people contacting Toyota requesting a longer bed for the Crewmax. Unfortunately, I am in a postition that I need some of the new features now otherwise I would probably wait another year or two to see if Toyota is any closer to offering more options.

For a discussion on aftermarket parts to improve HP & T in a 1st Gen Tundra, it sure looks like a discussion on buying a new '07.

[quote=RoundOut;741666]From being on this board and reading threads for several years, these are the performance mods that I would expect to get the most performance from (on my '03 - not sure as relates to VVTi) in order from most to least:
  1. Headers & Y-pipe
  2. Performance cat-back exhaust
  3. Underdrive pulley
  4. Electric fan
  5. Performance intake
  6. Ram Air Performance System
  7. Performance air filterquote]
You left out the Perfromance Chip or the Fuel Metering module to make the most of the on-board computer adding to Hp & T.

Buying aftermarket parts is sure a lot cheaper than a NEW TRUCK, and starting over with the mods....

You are right, I did. I recall that a shop in Oregon was making those and if you had breathing mods, i.e. headers, exhaust & intake, it did not make much of an improvement. I think it was about $800 or so, when they did a group buy. They would even tune it specifically for the mods you had on your vehicle, to get the most out of it. One of the optional features that I would love to have, but would probably NEVER use is the removal of the 105mph governor.

I have the breathing mods and didn't even think of the chip, because it would not have done me a whole lot of good.

Sorry for getting off track, should start a new thread "to modify or to buy new". I started this thread because I was considering several mods for my '05. But when I really looked at the total price of these mods it added up fast. So much to the point of saying is it worth the money for my '05. But thanks to everyone that gave me their advice on these horsepower and torque modifications.
