Default Header install question

When installing SS Autochrome headers, do you have to remove the studs in the head that are used with the stock exhaust manifolds, or do they need to be removed and use the bolts that come with the headers?

I am worried about breaking one of the studs off, if you know what I mean.

Mine is an 02 model if that helps.
