Concensus on the Best Hood protector/ Bug deflector
Well its been long enough that someone has had to find a good Hood protector/Bug deflector that doesn't fly off on the highway, doesn't look tacky and actually fits the truck well. What are you guys buying and a pic would be nice. I had one on everlasting back order from Toyota and with the latest info I got, I cancelled the order. Thanks

I'll bite...
This is the FormFit
$65.00
I installed it in April 07
The center section feels a bit flimsy, by that I mean, I can grab it and pull it away from the clamps if I wanted to, but it stays put otherwise.
It has a lifetime warranty from my dealership parts counter, so If I ever feel like it is going to fail, I can trade it for a new one.
I drive a min. of 60 miles per day and in the 6++ months it has been on there, I have one tiny rock chip on the curved part of the hood, so it has done it's job well. I have never found myself cleaning the bugs off my windshield at the service station, so it works well in that area too.
Install write up is here...Bug Deflector

+2 on the clear bra, and I've had it since 2001! I've never found a "bug-deflector" to ever actually deflect any bugs over the windshield. I would always find the same bugs on the glass as on the "deflector."

I bought a kit off fleabay & installed it myself. Others got to a local tint place to have it done.
I've never seen a bug deflector do that. The one on my T100 was eaten by lovebugs & they still covered my windshield. It caught crap behind it & I had to remove it every time I detailed the truck. The first one broke off at one corner when I slammed the hood shut on a real cold day after checking the oil. It also made my hood shake real bad when I went over 65mph.
The 3m material will take a beating & when it gets to the point I can't buff out the bug guts, I'll pull it off & put on a new piece.

Try J.C.Whitney for a Lund bug guard. Fit is good, installation is fairly simple and it stays on. Price was really good at the time I ordered. Don't remember exact cost. Think it was about $60.00 including shipping. Will try for a picture of my Tundra with the guard.

Re: Concensus on the Best Hood protector/ Bug deflector
I have used the Toyota hood deflector on my 2002 Camry SE and now my 2007 Camry XLE. Was never sure if it was effective and whether or not I looked the appearance.
So...I have removed it from my 07 to try it. First, I like the look without the deflector. Second, I discovered the dealer had not used the anti-abrasion strips to protect the hood paint. As a result I have four nasty paint scars on the hood. The dealer has offered to paint the hood.
