Re: Anyone know of some nice Running boards for the Tundra?
I went with the Rampage boards off of e-bay as well. Had the brackets line-x coated when the bed was done and they look much less noticeacble now. Line-x the brackets cost about $35.

When I checked a while back they weren't available for the 2007 Tundra. Web site is still the same. When did they become available? Cost?

07blackcrewmax, how about some pictures.......
I got the brushed stainless from Toyota. They seem to be a lot more functional and strurdier than the tubes. I also think they look nicer because it's harder to see the mounting hardware. Take a look at mine.....

guntech - I like yours.. mine are just different. The treads don't wrap around and the end caps are different, but I agree they are rock solid. I apologize for the bad pictures... it's raining here and this is with my camera phone...

I just picked up and installed those same boards today. Did it by myself in halflight/near darkness and they look great. I know they're OME but they bolt on in less then 45 minutes and the kit had replacement bolts.
Websites were competitive with my dealer but shipping and delay for delievery sucks. Called 5 local dealers with 3 telling me $443 and two saying $559 uninstalled, so call around, don't just go to your dealer. My dealer was one of the $443's so I went there and when I told him the price Sparks was giving for several other items I want, he matched those prices (about $10 less then his first price on those items).
Did get the bed extender from Sparks though. With shipping its still $40 less then any of the dealers I contacted ($263 vs $300).
Point is most of these boards and tubes are easy bolt ons that any guy who can work a wrench and has metric sockets can do in an hour. Don't spend $100 to $250 for installation!

I agree. While these came from the factory, I put some on my last truck and it took about an hour. As stated above, these do bolt into the frame in four (I think) heavy brackets on the CM.

Re: Anyone know of some nice Running boards for the Tundra?
Here's pictures after installation. The only trick to it is that there are no instructions, but its too simple to have any anyway. There are 2 brackets that are a little bigger then the others, they're for the front. The other 6 brackets are the same. Don't tighten any of the bolts down until you have the boards attached to the brackets (that means bracket bolts and the bolts attaching the boards).
P.S. Ordered a Bed Extender from Sparks Tuesday and they were waiting for me the next day! I know I'm only 200 miles from them but that was fast service!
Re: Anyone know of some nice Running boards for the Tundra?
I put on the polished SS Challenger running boards from runningboardwarehouse. Just like the Toyota boards, but polished instead of brushed. Easy bolt on, less than an hour. Cheaper also! Look in my gallery for pics.

I had these some time ago and wrote up a quick reveiw over a year ago and it stated the following
What I like and have are the Onki "nerf board" It is a true hybrid in that it has the look of a nerf with the side having true rounded stainless steel side caps and functionality of a running board with it’s highly textured rubberized step (6.5" wide!!! compared with usual 4" running board or 3" nerf bar) and an integrated body rubber gap strip. There is no gap between the step and the cab body (keep debris off the truck and keeps snow/mud from piling on the step)...the nerf bars or challenger bars have a gap between the step and cab which I dont like. At 6.5" wide you dont have to worry about slipping off or between the bar and the truck body in incliment weather either
see my photo gallery for install instructions and final pics!!
I really like them and they have on several occassions protected door dings from much smaller low profile cars (visual confirmation)....much better than the slippery accident prone nerfs here in the northeast when coated with snow or ice

Re: Anyone know of some nice Running boards for the Tundra?
I installed the Rampage steps this weekend on an '08 CrewMax. There's a few other things to consider with these:
1) They are not solid tubes. They are 3/4 tubes with open bottoms, perfect for collecting crud and dirt. Had I known this, I probably would have chosen something else. That said, I do like the wide step and the look.
2) The front brackets I received were incorrect. I'm not sure if this was a shipping error or the design is bad. The front brackets can only be mounted with one bolt instead of the two and would need to be about 3 inches longer and have an additional bend to reach the other factory bolt hole. When you put weight on the step, you can tell it is not as solid of a mount as it should be. Perhaps the bigger problem is that I don't know how to get that rectified. I will contact the seller from whom I bought them, but none of the paperwork that came with them provides an address or phone number or any contact information for the manufacturer. Nor is there any warranty.
3) The support brakets are plain metal, not even painted. I was, frankly, shocked by that since portions of the the metal would be plainly viewable. I primed them, painted them black and clearcoated. It held up the installation a few days, but I'm VERY glad I did it.
4) I recommend you fully install the plastic end caps before mounting the steps on the truck. It will make life much easier. The instructions I received didn't even say anything about the end caps. They are not difficult to install, but are much easier to install when the steps are off the truck.
5) The instructions do not give any torque specifications for anything.
