What is an "in-channel"? Is it a DVD?

I believe he wants in channel window visors and if so EGR makes the best I've seen for the tundra and I'm using them. I had avs stick ons and they practically fell off the truck after several days of continous rain. I originally tried weathertech in channels and they sucked so bad that the front visors shattered in the channel the first time I slowly rolled the windows up.

Yes I am talking about in-channel visors. Thanks for the replies. I heard that Wade makes good ones also? I just don't want to strain the window motors or stretch out the window sill if I decide to take them out later.

I have Wades and they work great for me. I've never noticed any additional motor strain. I think the most important thing is to follow the directions and keep the windows completely rolled up for the prescribed period. Two days as I recall. It might also be best to do this in hot weather, but I don't know. That might help everything re-mold itself around the visors properly.

IN CHANNEL!!! Got em off e-bay for like $45 bucks for the whole set. Follow the directions and these things are money. The exterior stick ons are the ones you always see on the ground at the end of the carwash.

I've got WeatherTech. I could tell the first time I tried to install they would not fit. Had to CAREFULLY trim about .25" from flange that fits in the channel. It took some work but they look good. Take you time and think it through. If you don't have the patience buy another brand.

Interesting. I had the exterior vent visors on my 2000 4Runner and only had to replace one 1" piece of tape and I had it for 7 years. But I have been considering going with the in-channel on my truck. I put WeatherTechs on my wifes Land Rover and they fit pretty well. I found the Wade 4-piece on truckaddons.com for $55.99. Anyone have any experience with ordering from there?

Thanks!

weather tech are the best, in my opinion. they are in channel.
they are crystal clear tint. not that foggy type nor, tape on the out side.
if you are a washing your truck alot, and a nutty when it comes to crystal clear windows, it is possible you will dislodge the tape.
and now you either have to run out and buy new 3m tape and redo it.
or buy a whole new set.

weather tech are really quality made. there is a huge difference in the products out there, nothing comes close to the quality of weather tech. they are thick.
other types, dry out and crack.
weather tech won't brake like the tape on thin 1's.
but there cost is double. you get what you pay for here.
also they are hard to install the front's. because they go deep into the door.
you think they aren't the right 1's but they are.

i suggest you tape off the black rubber on the window bottom ,so it won't rip tear, etc when installing.
if you have a friend that has done this before have them do it or help you.
or pay for a professional to do it. otherwise it can cause a little damage.

but they have no wind noise that i notice, and they look great.

look at a picture of my truck in the forum jump under regional and state clubs southeast
look for south florida meet. find the white double cab with the darrell waltrip graphics.
you can see them on the truck. they are slim line.
not those 1's that stick way out.

i know of 2 people how had the stick on, and when on the highway the noise level with the window open was so bad, they took them off.

it's your truck & your choise.
good luck.
they are great in the rain to, you can crack the window. i guess just like the other types, except there is no noise with weather tech's, again at least in my truck.
hope you buy & get whatever you want, and they work out for you. good luck

I also bought mine off of e-bay. Dont remember what brand they were, but they work great. I have had them on my truck for almost two years now, and not one problem. I also like the weather tech, but price is kinda high. Shop around and see who has a longer warranty.

It's been awhile since I've visited this thread/site. Thanks for inputs. I have yet tobuy the visors but since it is summer and the weather is hot and rainy, I will be shopping around soon. I do like the look of the weathertechs but the price steers me away. I do believe in you get what you pay for, but I also believe there are good quality products out there and it just takes time spent on research and people giving good and honest reviews of products. Thanks again folks.

EGR has a lifetime warranty. I have them. They are very bulky, in my opinion, and block the view out of the side windows. But I like the fact that I can remove them at any time I wish, and reinstalling them takes seriously 10 seconds on each side. I usually remove them if it is very sunny and no chance of rain for a week, or if I am washing the truck.

If I had the money to do so, I'd buy the Wade model and compare the two. I've heard nothing but good things about the Wade brand.

I just got my weathertechs and my drivers side deflector shattered in a few spots, only on the in channel part. NOT IMPRESSED!!.. Will be emailing Weather tech.

Ron

Update: Called Weathertech and they are sending me 2 front replacements.

Gorilla. great idea for taping the ruber portion of the window. I wish Iread that befor I installed mine. Magic Marker works wonders.

I had essentially the same issue with the Weathertech's on my Tundra DC and the mother-in-law's Oddessey. Granted I did both in the winter with temp around 40 deg. It takes a fair amount of time, and I would recommend installin in the summer with temps in the 80's or 90's. Both sets of mine cracked at the leading edge of the front windows upon initial window closing. But since they were guaranteed, I figured I would return them if they broke, but after over two and a half years, they haven't on either car.

I like them better than the other adhesive styles I have had on previous cars, they look better, are clearer and no wind noise. Also, a couple of the adhesive varieties I have had in the past came off (including the Toyotas "professionally" installed by the dealer).
