Default Heads up; Costco + Nuvi 680 = deal!

Just wanted to pass this along to folks looking for a Garmin Nuvi 600 series NAV unit. I was looking at the Nuvi 650 for a while now and the best price I found was $509 on ebay.

I happened to be in Costco yesterday and they were putting out some of the Garmin Nuvi 680's. They had not even put up a display price yet when I asked this dude, "how much"?. He had to call on his 2-way to get the price: $479.95. I grabbed my Christmas present early.

You can also check online. They list the Nuvi 650 and 680 but no pricing until 11/12/07. The 650's really nice too and should be a bit cheaper.

I paid $445 for a 650 2 months ago, now they are under $400 on ebay. The 650 is a great unit.

My bad; I meant to say the Nuvi 660 was what I was looking at originally.

On 11-19, the 650 will be $299 at Costco, online only. Heck of a deal, I'm gonna grab one.

The $299 deal is on now, started on the 16th and ends on the 26th. From what I've researched so far, other than the lack of bluetooth it has the same features as the 680.
Very tempting...

You're right, except the 680 comes with 1 year free MSN Direct if that matters to you and includes the antenna for it. Other than than, it's pretty much the same unit. $299 is a steal on the 650.

Oh, I will be taking back my Maestro 4040 I bought for $399 at Costco 2 months ago then, and trading it in for the 680 nuvi. Thanks for the heads up.
Is the MSN and antenna, and the bluetooth worth the extra money to upgrade over the 650??
