This is a discussion thread titled "Aries Nerf Bars on an 08 CM Tundra", within the Aftermarket Products forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Wow....both look really good. I've narrowed my search down to those bars and cover....I just need to get home so I can order them and install them on my poor neglected crewmax...(been gone for about 4 weeks).

I am getting the same ones. A friend who works at an accessories store recommended Aries when I bought the truck, but I had never heard of them. They are matching the TRex price.
Im glad I finally made a decision. Too many to choose from. Now if I could just decide on Husky vs. Weathertech!
I ordered mine directly from Trexmotorsports and they were great. I don't like to play the price matching game if I can avoid it. I would rather give my business to the company offering the best price to begin with. Oh, and Bret, go WeatherTech, they're awesome.

Are they made of steel? If they are I would be afraid of them rusting around here with the winter conditions.
On Aries the brackets are carbon steel and the hardware is zinc plated. The Aries bars are 304 polished. This is the same for all except Nasta, which makes a 100% stainless product, brakets hardware, etc..

Custom console organizer, Console LED Light, Custom Rear Bed step, Back Up Camera, K&N Air Filter, Fog Lights (updated 4/20/08)
ok. i ordered from T-rex. 335.56 shipped to CA.
damn taxes.
Won't take long to install. I had no need to drill. Just bolt on the brackets to the existing mounting holes (factory screws were even there on the truck, so easy to find the spots), and then bolt on the nerf bars to the brackets. Everything is hand tightened. The instructions (which aren't very detailed) tell you to come back and tighten the bolts one more time after a week.

Well, I think I have finally made a decision. I want the Aries and the WeatherTechs. Thanks for your help Songdog!
I have read on this forum where people had bad customer service with TREX and mentioned the AutoAnything route. So people were not getting their bars after weeks and when they tried to cancel they could not get in touch with anyone.

Yeah, I wrote TREX a simple email asking if they ship to Canada. I didn't get any response yet, and that was a week ago. I won't do business with a company that won't talk to me.
I followed this thread in order to make my decision in favor of these bars. I ended up going with AutoAnything because they accept Amex.
I received them yesterday and they were damaged. The box they come in is too weak at the bottom and had split resulting in the polished end being dragged and quite badly worn down.
I called them up and I have to say I have received a poor level of service from AutoAnything. They promised twice to call me back with a return authorization and new ship date and did not both times. Just got off the phone with another CS Rep and she said they would know everything, return authorization and new ship date, by close of biz tomorrow, which is just outrageous really.
I have never had this experience with anything I have purchased on the internet. I am thinking about calling Amex and disputing the whole charge and just getting them elsewhere.
Thumbs down for AutoAnything,
PS For what it's worth, the bars look good; I'd just prefer them not sharpened into a shiv for truck .
If the goods had not been damaged, which was not their fault, I would be positive too, but the measure of the company is how they react when things don't go well. So yes, bad luck indeed that I got the one CSR Rep who didn't understand the convoluted process the customer has to go through and who did not understand that the one thing you really have to do is keep the customer in the loop by actually calling back when you say will.
Let's home someone pays attention to my caveat emptor and inspects first, then refuses acceptance, which is what I really should have done. If that fails let's hope they don't get the one bad egg that taints this otherwise exemplary record you kindly shared.
lookin' good! i was considering getting black (haven't really been a fan of chrome), but the chrome actually looks really nice with the chrome bumpers.
