I am dealing with my own dilemma with autoanything & aries bars. I have an 06 tundra double cab. The directions that come with the bars are horrible. I have installed everything on cars & tractors, from brakes & carbs to clutches & gearboxes, and I would tackle anything with a decent set of directions. The parts just didn't match up to the holes. I tried for 3 hours this weekend before taking it to a shop & paying to have them installed. They laughed at the directions & struggled with the bars for 2 hours. They installed them, but they think I have the wrong/extra brackets. I sent photos to autoanything & aries, and I am waiting for their response (day 2).

To add insult to injury, at the shop, they opened the second bar to find it dented. It also would not accept the fourth mounting bolt - stripped. You can state "buyer beware" all you want, but there isn't a delivery driver around me that is going to wait for you to open the boxes & inspect all parts, and then refuse delivery. The damage comes from extremely poor packaging - there must be a shortage of bubble wrap in China.

As mentioned in a previous post - a measure of a company is how they handle their mistakes. I will withhold judgement until the outcome from both. I have more to add, but I will let them respond first. I am anxious to see how these companies handle this. I will let you folks know.

Well, I have a resolution, and I have come to the conclusion that Aries sucks! I started by calling the company & a representative stated, "Our directions suck!" and he referred me to a manager. I tried reaching the manager for several days. I left several voicemail messages with my home number, cell phone number, and email address, all to no avail. I finally emailed the company office with photos attached begging for help. I was finally able to reach the manager, who apologized profusely, and assured me that a new set of bars was being sent right out to me. As I spoke to him & told him about the difficulty that the shop had mounting them, and then told him that they were only able to mount them using 2 of the 3 holes (reinforcing my belief that I received the wrong brackets) I was told that, "That should be enough to hold them in place, but I will send you another set of brackets anyhow." I was also told that I would be sent pictures & updated directions showing the mount on a Tundra. I waited a week and a half, but nothing arrived - bars, photos, or directions. I called, and found out that the manager never did anything to process the order. He assured me that it would all be handled that day. Again, I called the next day, and nothing had happened. I finally called Autoanything & they got involved to resolve the mess. Needless to say, I will never purchase anything that Aries makes again. The product was damaged due to poor packaging, the follow through from management was horrible, and the overall product was subpar - stripped threads, loose caps, and holes that didn't align. The only positive characteristic was the price. But then again, sometimes you get what you pay for. The only thing that I did learn from this experience is that I will deal with Autoanything again. They stood behind a bad product, and a bad supplier. They were actually a pleasure to deal with, even through a very frustrating experience.

Why did you not go through autoanything in the first place? I have the bars and I had no issue with the craftsmanship or the packing. The instructions were fine for me and it took me 30 minutes to put them on. They have been on for 5 months and still look great. I think you just had bad luck.
