Purchased their Stage II 6" Lift and the knuckles are already rusting.(1 week)
Their answer " To bad "; we can't do anything for you because you are driving in an enviroment where there is road salt ". Well that probably covers approx. 3/4 of North America.
I was not looking for a new kit; powdered coated or better paint on a new set of knuckles, was what I was looking for. So now I have to post pictures on the internet because of their ignorance. This is not the way I do business. Hopefully the rest of you guys have better luck since you live in the U.S.A
dang, those pics really do say a thousand words. I hope you can make it right. This is a good heads up to anyone getting the same lift. Some preventative maintenance, coat the knuckles with some caliper or engine hi-temp paint before you install them!
Thanks for sharing.

All Pro Comp lifts are like that. Had the Stage 1 kit on an '04 F150 and '06 Titan.
Needless to say, the fact that Pro Comp is the only producer of bracket lift kits for the 07+ Tundra is 99% of the reason I'm not lifted yet. They'll never see a cent of my money again.
that's pretty lame. consumers shouldn't have to do any kind of extra painting/coating like this. i definitely will never buy a product that will show rust this easily.
These photos really ring true with something that I was told by one of the sales people at RCD.
"The first lift kit out, isn't always the best."
I have never owned anything by pro-comp but have seen some interesting negatives.
I can say I never saw anything like that for the 3 years I had my RCD lift and their spindles had a thick powdercoat over them. The flat part where it was machined to adapt to the ball joint would get some rust, but nothing to that extent.
Five months on the truck and no rust on my spindles. Now granted I don't live in a salt road environment, but every friend I have who does always comments about how hard it is to keep aftermarket parts from rusting in those harsh environments. Ours has seen plenty of mud, sand and water and I went out and checked them just now, no rust. For the record, every vehicle that I've installed spindles on have eventually ended up with a coat of rust even in a non-salt environment. Many of the spindles a person can purchase from a variety of manufacturers come raw iron out of the box. They always have to be painted before being installed if you want them to not rust quickly. And even then they will need a coat of paint not too far down the road, probably even quicker in salty environments. Spindles tend to show a coat of rust quicker than most suspension parts because they are iron.

Most suspension components that are cast will get surface rust. Especially with salted roads. Take a look at other parts under your truck like brake rotors, rear end, driveshaft, leaf springs etc and you'll find it's pretty normal. Besides, with weather like that it doesn't look like there are too many car shows.
