If you really think about it $1,200 is pretty cheap considering what you can gain from it.

I agree. I'd love to change the shift points -- my truck thinks it's supposed to take 1st up to about 4k RPM even though I'm at about 1/4 throttle. The shift points are horrible (yes, even with resets)! I'm not too fond of the drive by wire--it never does what one would expect.

I could be wrong, but this looks like you don't have to leave it installed. If that's the case, I would be willing to buy one of these and then "rent it out" to others to update their stuff, too. Can anyone confirm I'm correct about the application? This appears to be an external programmer.

*edit* having said that, I would probably send it to someone who is way more knowlegable than me to find the optimal program, then I could just upload my truck with their settings.

Still to Come: Headers? Speaker/Sub upgrades? What else? Supercharger........? I'm sure I'll think of something.

Not sure if toyo's are the same as fords, but I know with my cobra, there were different ECM program codes (5 or so digit code that told what programming the computer had) that yielded different results when programmed with the "one program fits all" settings. From experience, you will never get the optimal settings unless you have a programmer do it on the dyno.

I don't think those are tuner devices. It looks like they allow you to reflash your ECM only with firmware provided by Toyota, it does not allow you to develop your own firmware.
