Default HID light kits

Hello everyone, I am rather new to the forums and I have been thinking about installing an HID kit on my 04 Tundra and would like to hear some opinions about some kits that are out there. I have read quite a bit about how some of these kits might actually be harming other drivers on the road. I have also read that they are a good upgrade if installed correctly. So, with this being said, what is everyones opinions? I was looking to buy a kit from here http://www.xenonlink.com/

Also, if I do, which kit would I need for my application? I would like to get a kit with high and low beams.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you need it if your 04 is like my 05 DC. I just installed a set of 5300 k HIDs on my wife's Suburban, and they did not seem any better than the OE lights on my Tundra. Also, unless I am mistaken, you cannot put HIDs on a dual element bulb.

They do make HID kits that are dual filament bulbs also. In this case, there is a mechanism or magnet that slides back and forth inside the bulb itself creating the high and low beam, but those kits are noticeably more expensive than the regular single beam ones.

In general, yes you will be giving off much more glare to oncoming drivers, even if you aim the lights more down then stock. Pretty much the only way to not have such excessive glare would be to do a FULL HID retrofit, meaning actually taking apart your housings and mounting in actual projectors. If you do this yourself, it won't hurt the pocketbook that much, but i'm dumb with that kind of electronics, so I saved up the money and paid an expert to do it.

The HID lights weren't mean for our reflector design in our housings. Though if you still are interested, I have my old HID pnp kit sitting in the shed in my old headlights. They are 6k H4 kit.
