I am moving up to an 05 from a 2000 and also am interested in the bug shields.. Do all of them need to have the grill removed to install or just the better ones.?? My 2000 needed this for the better type of shield. Lower profile look better?? Thanks

EGR $70. Bolt on kit. Ordered it through Advanced Auto Parts. Waited about 2 weeks. Very easy to install. I've been happy with this product ever since.
You have to loosen the grill up a little and slide the bug shield in place. It does not rattle and it have never cracked yet. Installed in Dec 07. I chose this one because I did not want to mess with 3m tape. This was only one I could find that was bolt on besides Toyota factory one.

Would agree... Have an 05 tundra and everything but the center of the bug shield is good.. It seems to slope to the center from looking in the truck.. The center of the bug shield seems to rest on the hood which I'm not too happy.. I'm going to probably take it back and get something better

I installed one made by STAMPEDE and it fits good and no problems so far. Fits behind grill and screwed on ends NO tape.

I am not certain what the retail price is on the OEM Toyota one, but I'm sure Sparks can give you that information. I think it's like $120.00 or something like that? Don't quote me on that one. The grill does have to be removed for it, and the tech who installed mine said it was a pain in the @$$. I was quoted a certain amount, and that's what I paid (even though it costed the service manager a full hour). It was the first time that specific tech had ever installed one...I'm sure some of you guys can get it on there a lot quicker than that...
