Default Side Steps tubes

I want to get some side steps but I want them to mount to the frame and not the body. I would prefer black rather than stainless.
Does anyone have advice on what kind and were to get them at a good price?

Thanks!

ive never seen a step that was mounted to the body. they usually share the body mounts, which are on the frame. i havent really looked at any steps for the tundra though. and toyota installed mine for me. so maybe they are different on this truck??

Try the N-Fab bars and have a local metal shop weld some tubes w/brackets to the frame. Would be like a rockslider tube step.

Had black powder coats, from Back Country on my Tacoma. they rusted and bust in 5 years. Just got stainless for my new Tundra, NASTA 5" Ovals Polished Stainless.

I just installed 3" rapture stainless nerf bars 199$ shipped 7 days 4wheelonline.com on my 08 tundra dblcb a week or so ago. I never put bars on but felt local shops were trying to rip me off. Also bought undercover for 678$ at same time. For what I paid for both local shops wanted to charge 100$ more for undercover than I paid. Acted like they were doing something by installing. What a rip. Instaling the nerf bars was about as hard as changing a flat tire. The tundra has prepositioned bolts in body, just remove bolts, then bolt brackets in bolt holes with new supplied bolts hand tight ,put nerf bars on brackets hand tite ,then tighten everythang up. Don't worry they ain't going anywhere unless you bottom out on somethang and I don't know of anythang thats gonna take a hit from a moving 6700lbs truck unless you wuz gonna weld some 3/4" iron off the frame in which case youd bend the frame.

I'm looking for some black nerf bars with more than just two support brackets. Any ideas what brands would have them for an 09 Crewmax?

I picked up some WAAG side tubes a couple of years ago. The black powder coating is holding up fairly well. What I really like is they extend from the front wheel well to the rear wheel well. This gives us a place to step out of the box as well as the front and back doors.

Does anyone have any input or real world experience with the FRAME mounted steps. I have an 05 tundra, single cab but I would like wheel to wheel mounted to the frame. The guy that just worked on my exhausted said he could and would prefer them welded to the frame that the body. Any input on this is appreciated. Also, FYI, they dont make a wheel to wheel for the single cab models... except for a new, yet to be released westin product for the 09 and up.

My 200$ 3" rapture chrome nerf bars have 3 brackets. My 300# a$$ can stand on them with no problem or movement, check out my profile picture for a descent picture of them.

I purchased NASTA brand step tubes because of price and all stainless hardware and mounting plates. I got the stainless tubes, but their brackets and hardware are still all stainless if you get the black tubes. I ordered them from JC Whitney. My body weight has been as high as 265 without so much as a wiggle from them. No matter what brand you get, take it from me, use anti-seize on the bolts when mounting them. The mounting process is easy, but I seized up one of the bolts and had to cut the head off, have the threaded portion removed by heating the tube with a torch, and purchased new bolts to complete the install.
