I kinda like it. At first I thought "that's a pretty expensive CAI", but when you take in the looks of the scoops, it ain't bad.

Built my own. Did not plumb it directly to the air tube that goes from the air box to the fender as I am after better mpg's and not necessarily more hp. This is first version, second revision is being fabricated this week. This version got me another mpg on the freeway - no increase in town. Still get 14 in town pulling a landscaping trailer at 2000 pounds stoplight to stoplight.

I posted pictures with descriptions on my profile in my photo album.

19+ MPG on the Highway at 75 MPH in a DC with a four speed automatic and a bad O2 sensor - not too shabby!

You might want to think about putting a screen on it to prvent critters and amphibs from getting up into it. The pic of the entire front puts its size into perspective. Had you thought about raising it to at least bottom of the bumper? Seems to be really low for curbs and fording streams.

I thought about the screen but have not needed it - yet. I guess at some point some squirrel is going to find out that my fender well makes a nice nest. I will incorporate a screen into the next revision (currently under fabrication). I have yet to hit any curbs with it and it clears everything on the road. If I was going off-roading with the truck I would take it off. The installation is only about ten minutes.

Overall I am pretty pleased with the performance (fuel mileage) and looks. The next revision will incorporate some of the lessons I have learned on this one and hopefully work a little better.

Oh, as far as water - I have had the thing through a dozen car washes and several very heavy sustained thunderstorms on the freeway with no adverse effects. Since it does not plumb directly into the air box any water that does manage to get up the flexible tube drains out. My photo album has descriptions that explain things in more detail.

Thanks for your comments/observations.
