I don't like the fact that it's red.

Now before you complain that it's just aesthetics, generally you want to color-code your wiring setups, and more specifically ground or - lines are generally black, or occasionally white, or bare wire. Red is usually used to indicate a +, or hot lead. Cross coloring can lead to bad mistakes later on.
As for its functionality, I dunno. I've heard that the thin line currently used by the Tundra is marginal, and that a larger line could help, but I haven't seen anything that says it's a major fix.
