Tacoma Stake Pockets

Thinking of selling my 2003 Tundra & purchasing a new Tacoma. Does anyone know if the Tacoma has stake pockets on the bed rail. The salesman told me that they are under the plastic protector & I would need to cut a hole in the plastic to access the hole. Doesn't make sense to me.
