viper 5901, 2009 ford fusion
That funny, i was just reading through that same thread a few days ago since there seems to be very limited info on the product.
Yes they definitely are certified, not only have they been around for a while but reputation is great. Hell, my mom even got her windows tinted there like 10 years lol and its still perfect. I have the 5900 Viper alarm and I LOVE IT ! My battery last, in my transmitter, about a month on 1 AAA battery, so 6mos. without a change on the new transmitter would be heavenly. The transmitter range is the same(GREAT). To be able to change temps isn't that appealing to me as long as I can remotely start my vehicle with the heat\air on is enough for me.I don't have to have the car dialed in to 75.5 degrees before I enter the car, I think that's over kill. I have to hit my remote start button twice to start the car, again not a big deal over 1 press for the new transmitter. I also see you can move icons around on the transmitter, again no big deal. I see the major change is the transmitter design. It's completely different from the 5900, I do like that. I generally don't like to buy new series electronics until they're proven so keep us updated and Good-Luck !

hm nice yeah i didnt really make all of those little extra features a purchasing point, but i definitely wanted everything else with the awesome looking display. My brother has had the 791xv on his truck since it came out and he said his has been flawless so i figured id give this one a shot. I would say for how much im paying with install its a good deal to me which is why i jumped the gun so fast. I called the place just to get some info and pricing and ended up making an appointment right away

I would recommend you have the proximity sensor installed for added security to the interior of your vehicle. If a window is down or the rear window is pryed open then the shock sensor may not pick up the intrusion and your alarm may never activate. It usually cost a hundred if the alarm is already installed so it may be cheaper if you have it installed with the alarm. How much did they charge you for the alarm and install?
Update: Well i got it installed today, Dropped off the truck at 8 and picked it back up at 2pm. Well to my dismay they installed the wrong system! They installed the older model 5900 i was like whoa whoa wait a minute this isnt what i asked for. I talked over the phone with one of the techs and made an appointment to install the 5901 which is clearly stated and not only have proof of the email i sent the owner stating i wanted the 5901 specifically, he said just to forward the email again and so i did, so after a little discussion with the installer and owner, he said he would be glad to have the 5901 installed but since they are on backorder he said they would probably get them in mid next week. At that point i was extremely pissed but decided to keep my composure the best i could as i knew they could tell i was very unhappy . So not only did the tech i talked to on the phone write down the wrong model i mean cmon how hard is it the understand the word "fifty nine oh ONE" hell even when i went in this morning i told the owner i was here to get the "FIFTY NINE OH ONE" installed and as i looked at the receipt he wrote down 5900. Should i attempt to get some extra goodies installed due to thier mistake or just leave it be, because i believe now that they meant 499 installed for the 5900 not the 5901 so i guess im still getting a good deal?

Hey if they qouted you wrong and its stated in the e mails $499 for the 5901, thats there deal. If they have been around for a long time they know that a word of mouth is the best advertising. Hopefully they honor there original quote. I wouldnt press for anyhting else though.
Well it won't hurt to try and get some extras.I would ask for an additional discount for your time and gas or If you didn't get the proximity sensor see if they will install it for the cost they paid for it and they eat the labor. Good-Luck
Mistakes happen. We ALL make them. Have them put in the one you wanted and let it be. There are too many a$$holes out there looking for freebies when things like this happen. Just my .02....................
